“MEMORIES MADE IN THE COLDEST WINTER”
.
Today it is cold in Michigan. I’ve been wearing a coat in the studio for the past week as winter has finally set in.Though I do appreciate the site of the first snow of the season, I am cursing myself for not being more prepared. Scarves, boots, mittens, hats, long-johns/thermals, thick coats: all are musts when coexisting with MI winters.
.
We’ve been writing new material since ending the 52 songs in 52 weeks project.  I strongly believe you all will enjoy what we’ve been creating. We’ve taken the elements we found successful in the song-a-week format we had going on in 2011 and have ran with the ideas we feel will portray both our creative voice as well as the identity of our friends (as in you — the listener/reader/human that supports our art overall).
I’ve accepted a dare from a friend of mine to do more studio updates. We’re in the studio daily -writing, recording, fidgeting, tinkering- it’s time we start widening our circles and start letting everyone in on what goes down under these christmas lights. I’ve always been enamored by artists who are completely transparent with their work as well as their process. Being able to experience the early forms, the time and the techniques it takes for a piece to come together is so much more satisfying than just being handed the end product (to me at least).
.
So in a nutshell, expect more of these posts. I hope they inspire you as much as you all have inspired me. thankyou thankyou thankyou to those who read this and to those who haven’t forgotten about us. we’re still alive. and so are you… so go! create!
kindest feelings,
Jax
